Many years ago, I heard these two beautiful melodies, on the record made by Chimei, one of our famous levels in Taiwan.
As I know, there are lots of sweet folk songs in Japan, I am interested in them in these years, sometimes I learn from Conan episodes, sometimes from NHK, which I can receive Japan imformations in Taiwan.

[Music]This Must Be Heard
廿餘年前，當蕭博士寫好著名的聲樂曲，還有許多溫馨小品後；林衡哲先生便鼓舞他，何不寫一首小提琴的協奏曲，給海外的台灣演奏家演出呢？
在美洲台灣人協會盛情下，蕭博士提筆完成這部小提琴協奏曲，將台南市古時起源自西拉雅部落，後來以《牛犁歌》流傳至今的曲調，也運用為第二樂章的慢板主旋律，一九九二年歲末在美國首演，由林昭亮擔綱獨奏。
這場音樂會，首場是布拉姆斯《大學慶典序曲》，末場是德弗札克第八號交響曲。因為夾在中間，蕭博士本來還很煩惱，自己的作品會像三明治一樣，內餡被硬生生壓扁。
